The domain of “Pierrefont”
On the small rural district of Lagamas, on the banks of the river Hérault, domaine of Pierrefont (francisation of the name of the farm “Font de la Peyre”) is a farm of about sixty hectares where vines, olive trees, green oaks and pine forests are languishing in the sun on the terraces of the estate.
The farm has existed since the 16th century, the mansion was built in 1863 with an ornamental pond and a park, by a wealthy wool merchant from Lodéve.
Since 1894, Pierrefont belonged to the d’Albenas family (settled in the region for several centuries in Château Bas in Aumelas located a few kms away). By inheriting the property, Caroline de Chefdebien became the 4th generation of winemakers to take care of the plantations, the growth and well-being of the vines in order to produce the best grapes possible.

Respect for the environment and tranquility
Currently in conversion to organic farming, the land has always been run with respect for the environment and the leap to organic viticulture has been very natural. On all terraced land or on the banks of the river “Avenq” or the river Hérault, no pesticides, herbicides or synthetic products are used.
It is in this peaceful environment, in the shade of the tall trees, that the owners have renovated the farm respecting the authenticity of the place and set up 2 adjoining country homes.
With 300 days of sunshine a year, the generous nature will allow you to contemplate magnificent views and in summer, you will be disturbed only by the songs of the cicadas.
You will discover a haven of peace, calm and greenery, very well located to discover a region rich in landscapes, natural and historical sites that are worth a visit, and tasty local products (wines, olives, honey, …).
